Councillor Eoin Holmes is the Labour Party candidate in the Meath East by-election, which is being held on Wednesday 27 March. Eoin has been a Labour Party councillor on Meath County Council since 2007, topped the poll in the 2009 election and has served as Cathaoirleach from 2011-2012.
Eoin is running on the platform that a vote for him will be a sign to Enda Kenny that the people want more of Labour values in government decisions. He will support Labour policies such as free GP care and the roll out of primary care centres. Eoin also has progressive views on marriage equality and on women’s health rights.
