Labour Youth Supports Greyhound Workers Solidarity March

Labour Youth Chairperson Garrett comments “Labour Youth is proud to be a supporting organisation of the Greyhound Recycling workers solidarity march organised by SIPTU in Dublin at 15:30 this afternoon. The manner in which Greyhound workers have been treated by the management is shameful.”

“Greyhound is a profitable company. It is completely unjustifiable of Greyhound management to unilaterally impose 35% pay cuts on the workers. To compound matters is the unacceptable and outrageous decision of the management to lock the workers out of Greyhound premises for refusing to accept the pay cut. This arrogant and dismissive attitude from the management must end. It is akin to the conduct of William Martin Murphy in the 1913 Dublin Lockout.”

“Labour Youth calls on the Greyhound management to recognise the legitimate concerns of the workers and to amicably negotiate a resolution which accords with the concerns of workers.”
