Labour Youth is delighted to welcome the election of its candidate Neil Warner to the position of Vice President of the Young European Socialists over the weekend.
National Chairperson Jack Eustace commented: “Neil’s election as Vice President of YES represents the first time in over twenty-five years a Labour Youth member has held that position. It’s a testament to the hard work put in by our international team over the last number of years, and to the commitment to European solidarity of the Labour Youth general membership.”
Labour Youth’s International Officer Kerri Ryan, who led the delegation to the congress in Switzerland at which Warner was elected, said “The team worked so hard to get Neil across the line and see him elected Vice President. We’re very grateful to our comrades across the continent who endorsed Neil’s vision of an organisation that acts, organises and communicates on a truly European level.”
Warner, a former Labour Youth International Officer, also commented on his election: “I’m delighted to have won the position with the support and encouragement of fellow Labour Youth members and left-wing activists across Europe. I’m really looking forward to getting started and working closely with the new President Laura Slimani, Secretary-General Nina Zivanovic and the rest of YES over the next two years.”
